Amsterdam, Bicycle Capital of the World

Fri 11 Nov, 2011

Amsterdam holds a very special place in my heart. It is the first city that I visited outside my home country. It was a present from my uncle for my acceptance in the university. I keep coming back, mainly for business and always try to make some time to walk the streets and shoot. This time I had to visit a trade show but reserved Friday morning before my flight back home to walk in the center and try the new Oly EP-3 and 14-42mm kit lens. On Thursday evening, I could not resist but searching on the Internet whether there was a local shop having the Panasonic 20mm/f1.7 in stock. I found one and immediately surrendered to the overwhelming urge to go get it, first thing in the morning.

Amsterdam is the unambiguous bicycle capital of the world and has about 40% of all traffic movements by bike. Come rain or sunshine, bicycles are on the move. I decided to test my new gear EP-3/20mm combo on bike/street shots and here is the result of my 2 hour walk.
